COLOR GUIDE AND TURN-AROUND

The Youtooz cartoonist creates a 4-point turnaround of the concept and chooses the pantone hues that will be used to decorate the model in order to visualize how the concept would look in 3D. Choosing the correct pantone hue is essential for correctly representing the figure in a painted depiction because there are more than 3,000 different options available.

THE 8-16 HOUR 3D VERSION

The concept designer sends the color guide and turnaround files to our 3D modeling staff. The Youtooz artist will then create the first-ever 3D representation of the Youtooz using some “digital clay.” The author, proprietor, or IP holder is notified when the prototype 3D model is finished and requested to approve it.

PACKING TAKES 8-20 HOURS

While the sculptor is creating the 3D model, our package designers at Youtooz work with the inventor or IP proprietor to create the window-box design. The creator, proprietor, or IP holder collaborated with the Youtooz artist to create the inner, exterior, and sleeve imagery. Ideas can originate from anywhere, including outlining the scenario that will be drawn or looking over previous works’ examples.

It usually takes four to eight hours to create the first drafts that character proprietors can study and comment on.

SAMPLING TRIVIA EVERY 3–4 WEEKS

After the box artwork and 3D model are complete, our design team sends the character files to the Youtooz animation production team. The physical look of the finished Youtooz is previewed using an early 3D printed prototype. Examining WolfyChu’s sample for improvements.

PRESSURE HOLDING FOR 4–8 WEEKS

Steel-mold production will start once a prototype has been approved by the creator or IP owner. A computer numerically controlled equipment is used to laser carve each part and addition to the Youtooz from steel.

When the pattern is more complex, it takes longer to make a cast. A few of them required six months to create. We repurpose the steel after using a mould to make another figure.

A typical Youtooz mold could weigh as much as 500 kg. These models require delivery with a tiny crane.

VINYL INJECTION TIMING: 3–4 WEEKS

Upon completion of the mould, liquid vinyl is poured into it, and the solid Youtooz that result are then taken from the mould. Watching a Youtooz develop little by little is incredible!

3–4 WEEKS FOR FINAL PAINT AND ASSEMBLY

QA: CHECK FOR DESIGN AND COLOR IN THREE TO FOUR WEEKS

As production takes form, our QA and QC teams have begun reviewing each number for errors and discrepancies. After receiving approval, the Youtooz cartoons will be packed in their window box and delivered to our delivery facility. Youtooz go through stringent quality control procedures, including dimensions, weight distribution, and hardness level, to ensure they have the perfect form. Before being delivered, each Youtooz is quality-checked using a 96-point checklist.

One to four weeks are needed for packing and shipping.
Each Youtooz is put in a protective container before being placed in a carton for shipment after being covered in its display box and sleeve. Thousands of Youtooz are distributed throughout the globe each day.
